Well, I only ended up watching the first chapter of that Wolverine: Origins DVD. I decided to go to sleep instead. It was pretty cool and pretty neat. I like the DVD comics. And Pam even wants to watch which is weird so I have to wait until we have time to watch it together.
I'll try to make time tonight before I have to go in for frigging work. I am hearing a dirty rumour that we'll be brewing tonight, which means I'll be dumping grain. That sucks. I hate my job. I hope this business starts to take off after we get iinto Diamond etc. because I'd really, really much rather do that.
Oh well, I'm already tired again.

Penance blog 4...
I spent WAY too much money yesterday!....
We went shopping and visiting yesterday and it was cool. The SAAN's in Port Elgin is being closed up so Pam and I went there and got some nifty clothes for cheap. I also bought the Darkman VHS and the Any Given Sunday DVD at super low prices.
Then it was off to Owen Sound.
Well first we hit Deals. This place deals in inventory liquidations, so they have all kinds very very different things at very cheap prices. The name says it all. There were some deals in the business stationary isle that I just couldn't pass up. Then it was off to the comcis section, yes I said comics section. They are 5 for $1 and if you are looking for any comics that are unknown, defunct, or obscure and you want them cheap, this is the place. Basically stuff that was cancelled series, now bankrupt companies, and small press. I perused the video games and after debating which ones to buy, I decided not to get any of them. Then I hit the Holy Grail. A new rack at Deals. Deals now carries a wide selection of Marvel DVD Comics. What are DVD comics you say? This is where marvel takes it's most popular trades, mini-series, or highest selling issues, and animates them, adds voices, and sound effects. And them puts them on DVD. It looks awesome. I bought 2. I got the Wolverine Origins DVD which contains the entire miniseries, and I got the Wolverine Vs. Hulk DVD which contains the whole Wolverine vs. Hulk mini-series as well as the first 4 issues of Incredible Hulk vol. 2. Also on the rack were DVD comics of Daredevil, Ultimate Daredevil and Elektra, X-men, 3 different volumes of Ultimate X-men, Incredible Hulk, Ultimate Spider-man, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and I may have missed a few.
Then Pam went furniture shopping for hours on end while my brain went numb. We didn't buy any furniture.
Then we hit Wal-Mart. I bought Evil Dead 2 for only $7 on VHS. Now I just need Army of Darkness. I also bought some office supplies etc. as well as a couple of unneeded sugary treats.
Then we hit Taco Smell for super. I remember when Taco Bell used to be the awesomest cheapest place to eat, not any more. Pam and I spent $15 together just for our two meals! Insane I say!
After that we went to visit Danny at his place. e's moving around, but still hurt bad and not supposed to leave the house unsupervised. It's not as if he could any way. Pretty much all he can do is move enough to get back and forth formt he bathroom to the couch. I hooked up his Playstation 2 and we had a hell of a time playing Nascar 2005. HIs brother Kevin also showed up so we started racing tournaments.
We eventually headed home after picking up Scooter from Pam's parents. I was tired to say the least and I don't even want to see my bank total.
This morning I had something awesome waiting for me. The e-mail from Jason Marcy containing his intro to my new graphic novel Monkeys and Midgets which is coming soon!
I was amazed by Jay's beautiful words. I actually blushed. Even more so I was moved to tears, just because after all of that hard work I'm finally getting some recognition form somebody for doing what I love. Sure it's not fame, it's not goign to get me noticed, but just knowing that one other person out there loves the book makes all the difference to me in the world. Thanks again Jay!
Now I'm going to go watch a DVD comic before going to sleep because I have to work tonight.
Until next time...

Penance Blog 3...
Woohoo. I finally heard from comics buddy Jason Marcy, and my intro for Monkeys and Midgets is on it's way! YAY!
By the way Jay has an awesome new website at: www.jasonmarcy.com
Jay is also going to review Monkeys and Midgets for www.comicbookgalaxy.com and the owner of that site, a great guy named Alan David Doane, will be reviewing our other Open Book Press graphic novels including the current ones, Dreams in Texture and Grafenveer Vol. 1.
More info on the books will be posted tommorow.
Anyways, this is all good.
Oh and by the way. I'm looking for 10 pages of a good finished humor comic. Black and white, rated PG/PG-13. I need it for the back-up story to Monkeys and midgets. Pay is in comp copies and in 5% of the sales profits of the book!

Penance Blog 2...
Hey folks, I wan't going to do this entry until Sunday, but I just found out that there is info about Danny up on the web at www.saublespeedway.com I hope everyone can take a second to read it.
Now I know most of you don't know him at all, and I don't expect anything from anyone, but any help you can offer Danny would be greatly appreciated by him and his family. I for one will be supporting this. Like I said I'm not expecting anything, and I certainly have nothing to gain from this myself except to see Danny be able to take the time he needs to get well. So just for the sake of support I'll post the info here as well:
Penance Blog 1...
Well Danny has improved a lot and they even sent him home from the hospital on Wednesday night. He's still in pain and he can barely move around, but he'll live. They are still having a home nurse visit him twice a day at home though. He also has a nasty infection in the large incision they made in his stomach. It's really nasty. Apparently the instruments used weren't properly steralized. Nice to know eh?
So I haven't been on in awhiile. Super busy with getting books ready to publish and ad campaigns in place. As well they're fucking with our schedules at work again so my whole week has been thrown off. I'm going to finish up these penance blogs on Sunday before working my night shift.
Finally, some fantastic news. Our second book from Open Book Press, Grafenveer is now available on line and in print! For those who want to order advance copies now before it gets in stores you can click on this link:
